Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research issued a guide that indicates the recognized Arab and foreign universities in order to maintain the academic standards.
The Director General of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Directorate Dr. Bahaa K. Ibrahim said that the recognized Universities Guide was prepared by the directorate to identify universities that Iraqi students are allowed to join within programs that are full funded or partly funded by the Iraqi state, starting from the academic year 2013-2014, noting that the new guide of universities can be downloaded from the website : http://www.scrdiraq.gov.iq/ad/all_universities.pdf
Dr. Ibrahim added that the universities guide will be updated through periodic assessments for the programs and universities, depending on the information and reports that are available about each university, pointing out that if any student was accepted at a university that is not listed in the adopted universities guide then it will be subjected to a scientific committee to determine the academic standards of that university and the possibility of studying in it in accordance with the instructions of the equivalent certificates.
The Director General called on students who wish to complete their studies on their expenses to depend on the Guide of recognized universities prepared by the directorate of Scholarships and Cultural Relations to facilitate having academic files for them.
Dr. Ibrahim added that this guide does not include students who are continuing in their studies now and those who have been nominated officially by the Ministry of Higher Education and scientific research or from other Ministries according to the official acceptance issued by a University before the date of the announcement of this new guide.
